It's that time of year again when students get to create a contraption to help an egg from breaking! Can they do it?! I'll post pictures later this week! Below is a link to the flyer that was sent home, along with the material list students need to bring to help their group be successful!
Summer is a GREAT opportunity to continue learning and reading! I will be sending home a packet that shares how the Scholastic Summer Reading Program Works! I have also attached all files incase your copies gets lost over the summer! Thank you for helping your child continue to be a great reader!
The Oregon Trail is a wonderful part of Kansas History! Students got to experience what life was really like traveling on the trail. They worked in cooperative groups "families" as they had to problem solve, use math skills to determine the weight of items they could carry in their wagons, and took a real life simulation at the Kansas History Museum! We had lessons to learn the history of the Oregon Trail and even had fun playing the Oregon Trail Game online.
April was a very busy month for us! Along with state testing, students worked hard writing their last letters to their pen pals in Europe using correct letter format complete with addressed envelopes. They also formated a Diamante Poem using a fun interactive computer program and published them to take home! The fun didn't stop there, they rewrote them onto a kite where they are displayed out in the hall.
