It is always a delight having Matt Miller, from KSNT, join us to speak about weather! This year was especially fun, because he brought the weather truck! 4th grade has just learned about clouds, weather, meteorologist and wind. We will now be focusing on the water cycle! Fun experiments are to come! This is the 2nd year the 4th grade classroom has decided to put together a penny drive! This drive provides a few families to go out and buy everything they need for a Thanksgiving Dinner! The students create a flyer and present the drive to all the classrooms. Each class raises as many pennies as they can for the entire month of November. Last year the school raised around $400!! We hope for another wonderful turn out. This project also incorporates: Essential math skills, creative writing, public speaking, and religious virtues (giving to the poor and feeding the hungry). Thank you to parents and students, for your support and helping this be such a fun way for the kids to give to others! **The classroom that raises the greatest amount of pennies WINS a movie and popcorn party!!** |
