During February, 4th grade started an exciting unit called, A Wrinkle in Time. It's a book written by Madeleine L'Engles. Disney will be releasing a movie on it March 9th.
We have integrated several state standards from: ELA, Writing, Science (space science), and Math into this unit. Along with utilizing Scholastic materials and lessons! Below are pictures of hot air balloons that we incorporated into the lesson, to help create 3D models, shape design, writing and collaborations between students and other grades! For science the students created planets and took virtual field trips through space and watched a live interview of an astronaut.

We had a fun time taking a break while discovering problem solving, team building, and engineering skills!! They had so much fun creating these CUPID QUIVERS!
Followed by result sheets, hand up-pair up-share, class discussion. It is always great to take some time out of our very busy school days to stop, reflex and enjoy the most important parts of life: Jesus and each other! The week is coming to an end but there continues to be many exciting experiences to come! Today was, Decade Day - I LOVE the 80's! Tomorrow will be Grandparents day, the students are really looking forward to having this time with their beloved families!
Thank you for all the Holy Family Catholic School families that support our school and being involved in this wonderful time of educating our young generation. |
